Terms of use

These apply to the Potepass app and related services. The Norwegian version takes precedence.

Last updated: 9 October 2026

1. Who we are

Potepass is a service from Clevo AS, a Norwegian technology company. The agreement is made with:

Clevo ASOrg.nr. 935 893 550Skullerudskogen 11188 OsloE-post: hei@potepass.no

2. The service

Potepass is a digital health record for family pets. You can register pets, store treatments, weight, symptoms and documents, get reminders and share the history with your vet, family and a new owner.

3. Account and age

You need an account to use the app, and you must be at least 13. Buying a subscription requires you to be of age, or to have consent from a parent or guardian.

You are responsible for keeping your details correct and your login to yourself.

4. Not veterinary advice

Potepass does not give veterinary advice. Reminders and suggestions are general and do not replace a vet's assessment. If your pet is ill or you are unsure, contact a vet or pharmacy.

5. Your content

You own what you add. You give Clevo AS the right to store and process it only to provide the service to you.

You are responsible for having the right to add the content, including photos and documents.

6. Reading with artificial intelligence

When you scan a document, the photo is sent to an AI service to read the text. This requires your consent in the app.

Reading with AI has reasonable daily and monthly limits to prevent misuse. When a limit is reached, you can still fill in the details yourself.

You must check the result before it is saved. We do not guarantee that the reading is correct.

7. Sharing and transfer

You decide who gets access, whether a vet, family or a new owner. You are responsible for who you invite and share with.

Shares expire by themselves and can be revoked. On transfer, the health record moves to the new owner. Private notes stay with you. Change of ownership in DyreID is done as before.

8. Breeders

Breeders are approved according to the requirements on the For breeders page. Approved breeders get a public profile in Find breeders with kennel name, municipality and breeds.

We may refuse applications and remove profiles. The breeder is responsible for the details in the profile being correct.

9. Subscription, trial and payment

New users get 14 days free with full access, no card. The trial does not turn into a paid plan by itself.

Subscriptions are bought in the app through the App Store or Google Play. Apple and Google are the sellers of the subscription, and their payment terms apply.

The subscription renews automatically at the same price until you cancel. You must cancel at least 24 hours before a new period starts, in the App Store or Google Play. It runs until the end of the paid period.

Price changes are notified as Apple and Google require. Prices are on the pricing page and include VAT.

10. Right of withdrawal and refunds

For purchases in the app, withdrawal and refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their terms and consumer law.

Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com

Google Play: support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637

11. Without a subscription

Without an active subscription you can always read, export, transfer and delete the record. New pets, scanning, sharing and notifications need a subscription.

12. Acceptable use

If you have found a vulnerability, write to sikkerhet@potepass.no.

  • Do not add unlawful content.
  • Do not add other people's details without the right to do so.
  • Do not try to get around security or access rules.
  • Security testing is only allowed by agreement with us.

13. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep the service available, but there may be interruptions for maintenance or faults. We may change and develop features. We give reasonable notice of significant changes.

14. Cancellation and deletion

You can delete your account in the app under Me, or as described on the Delete account page (potepass.no/en/delete-account).

We may close accounts used against these terms, with notice where possible.

15. Limitation of liability

We do our best to keep the service available and your data safely stored, but cannot guarantee it is always free of faults.

We are not liable for indirect loss, or loss caused by following a reminder without consulting a vet. This does not apply to intent or gross negligence, and does not limit your rights under mandatory consumer law.

16. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We give notice of significant changes in the app or by email in reasonable time before they apply.

17. Additional terms for Apple

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

  • This agreement is between you and Clevo AS, not Apple.
  • Apple is not responsible for the app, its maintenance or support.
  • If the app fails to work as promised, you may notify Apple, who may refund the purchase price. Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • Apple is not responsible for claims relating to the app, such as product liability, claims that the app fails to meet legal requirements, consumer protection or intellectual property claims.
  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US embargo, and that you are not on any US sanctions list.

18. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes are first sought resolved amicably. Consumers can complain to the Norwegian Consumer Council and the Consumer Complaints Board, and can always use their ordinary venue.
